About
Recently, my family and I relocated to the State College area from Corning, NY where I provided 14 years of Speech and Language Services for ages birth through five years.
During my time in Corning, I supervised speech therapists and worked directly with children in a specialized preschool program designed for those with individualized education plans (IEPs).
During my recent time in PA, I provided early intervention services for children birth to three years of age and have transitioned to teletherapy services for preschool children in NY and private practice in PA.
I received a Dual Major Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing & Psychology from SUNY University at Buffalo and a Masters in Communication Sciences & Disorders from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY where I received the Dr. Mark Ylvisaker Memorial Award for outstanding scholarship as well as exemplary service to individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
I am certified in Pennsylvania State, New York State and within the American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Since graduate school practicums and post graduate work experience, I have had the pleasure of working with children in the following areas: Oral-Motor and Feeding Disorders (ages 6 months and older), Apraxia, Phonological and Speech Sound Disorders, Processing Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Hearing Impairment, Spectrum Disorders in addition to various Chromosomal Syndromes.
My mission is to provide effective, high-quality speech-language services to enhance and nurture child and family development, and to improve the child's overall communication and/or feeding skills thus promoting improved functional outcomes for child and family.
When not providing therapy, I love spending time with my family (husband & brother) and pets (Leonidas-Chocolate Labrador and two cats- Jack & Jethro). I am an advocate and caregiver for my brother who is a social, creative and hard-working adult with cognitive impairment. I enjoy spending time outdoors--kayaking, skiing and gardening. I love to cook, attend concerts, travel internationally in addition to finding my creative outlets in playing guitar, piano and watercolor painting.
